Living in Lake Stevens Washington

Lake Stevens, a city known for its community and beautiful Lakefront homes that surround the largest natural lake in Snohomish County, Washington. Located just 6 miles east of Everett Washington, bordering Marysville, WA to the northwest and Snohomish to the south. Lake Stevens is a growing town with population projected to increase to 44,613 by 2029 according to Economic Alliance Snohomish County.

Lake Stevens Landing & Soper Hill Center, two of the city’s newest commercial developments are currently being constructed at the intersection of Hwy 9 and Soper Hill Rd with retail, Dining, a new medical center and a 55+ retirement home. All businesses are expected to open by 2027 as the sitework progresses at Soper Hill Center in Lake Stevens.

Construction of four new roundabouts was finished in 2023 to improve congestion and mobility, providing better access to local businesses with improved connections for pedestrians and bicyclists in the Frontier Village area of Lake Stevens. In December 2022, a new Lake Stevens Costco was constructed at 20th Street SE and Hwy 9. Not only is the new Costco incredibly convenient for local Lake Stevens shoppers. But also, major business like these drive local taxes from sales to "put gas in the tank" for building the amenities people want - sidewalks, parks and trails!

There are quite a few activities around Lake Stevens in the Summer. The North Cove Park is the setting for many annual community events including the Lake Stevens Farmers Market and Aquafest. The lake is also very popular for boating, Paddle Boarding, Wakeboarding, rowing and even fishing. Every year Lake Stevens hosts a carnival style festival called Aquafest, lasting all weekend. This three-day festival at the North Cove Park has a number of other activities, both on water and land. The festival includes parades, several carnival rides, food booths, entertainment, Wakeboard competitions, two parts of the Quadrathlon, fireworks and a car show. There is also a beverage garden put on by the Lake Stevens Kiwanis club with live music!

Lake Stevens School District is a highly rated public school district with 15 public schools, serving approximately 9,687 students. A $314 million school bond package was recently passed to build a new school next to Stevens Creek Elementary, modernize and repair buildings at Glenwood and Skyline Elementary schools and build 5 new athletic gyms. Stevens Creek Elementary school was built in 2018 and is highly ranked in the area. Students at this school are making far more academic progress given where they were last year, compared to similar students in the state as of 2024.
